I was able to go to India in March of 2007. My purpose for going was to gain more understanding with the orphan crisis in this country.
We saw so many street children in Mumbai! Very young children were walking the streets without parents. Babies were literally sleeping on a blanket on the sidewalk. Most of the children were born on the streets with their parents also being born on the streets, so they know no other way of life. Other children had lost their parents to some type of tradgedy or their parents just couldn't afford to keep them.
I was able to visit some places that were trying to bring children in and give them a better life. It was so wonderful to see the children thriving in school, having a safe place to sleep and get 3 square meals a day.
I wanted to be apart of helping those orphanages stay running, and maybe even help start new ones. So myself and a team of others have started an organization called "Save the Kids".
One way I want to raise money is by selling photographs from the different places that I am able to visit.
*All proceeds from the photos sold in the Save the Kids gallery will go towards saving children.
